Spider art = good. Vancouver City terrible at art.

While you're taking that down, can you also take down the stairs to nowhere at the field right by the PNE? That isn't even an art installation. It's an eye-sore and a danger to all the kids who climb on it. Actually, you should move the spider to the field there. That would be smart. The spider is cool.

Keep Vancouver bland. Vancouver, the antithesis to Portland.

Policing-duh
That "park" in yaletown with the dead trees, the wildly uneven ground and the spikes on the benches. Very inviting.

The spider was very creative

I haven't seen it in person yet.

How is it mounted to whatever it's mounted to?

What happens if it falls?

What's below it?

Any potential liability for the City if it falls in a wind storm?

Honest questions, only caught a glimpse of it in a small photo and don't know the location well.

Phobias are real

Arachnophobia is a very common affliction, and seeing that massive thing while you’re driving could seriously scare someone and cause an accident. I’m all for art, but it’s also irresponsible to put something up when you know it’s likely to cause severe anxiety for a lot of people.

I think that the spider is impressive...however, what happens if we Vancouverites allow people to hang, paste, nail or whatever...anywhere they want. And then what happens if it falls on you?
there are systems in place to protect us. artist could have submitted design to city?
