Swiping right

Job interviews seem like that right now. I've had a few entry level minimum wage positions get to the reference phase, contact my solid references and then nothing. Why contact references if you have no intention of hiring them? Why interview people if you're just fishing? The expectation I lived a non pandemic experience over the last few years is frustrating.

Why contact references if you have no intention of hiring them? Ineffectual dullards bored with their lives seeking position over another person, because they're feeling insecure. Read David Graeber's Bullshit Jobs.

Yes Mam thanks for picking me. I think it is because in no matter of any kind and across all fields people have become entitled spoiled bratty children and display appalling behaviours towards all other's not in the click or gang, family or whatever the fuck the new soup of the month club is!

Try finding an apartment with a Child. Landlord's hate kids now apparently. They would rather a pet over a child. Isn't that illegal ?
The information they require to rent a place now is the same information a bank requires to get a mortgage. I'm not buying your apartment morons just renting it for a while.

actually it reminded me very much of my times during reno-victions in east Van 10-15 years ago. That's the last time. I remember references being phoned and asking things like "is he gay, does he have night guests, how much does he make, is he an addict,..." and various of questions you're not supposed to ask..... never got an apartment based on a reference either.

Just because someone contacts your references doesn’t mean you’re their first choice. They may have several candidates and they’re contacting all of their references too. That’s just part of doing one’s due diligence when hiring.
