the bible really is mostly full of shit, and incredibly boring to boot. That said, I've read certain passages of it over the last couple of years, and can actually see certain (usually, heavily) encoded meaning in it that does express certain truths, facts, histories, and even precognitions ("prophecies").

That said, they should have just said most of it literally if they wanted to communicate anything truly important to the vast majority of people.
