Get lost

I worked at the Vancouver convention centre a while back. Horrible environment. One of the employees was some loser from California. That person constantly boasted nonstop about how he’s laid back and lived a very good life. You could hardly concentrate since this guy simply wouldn’t shut the hell up. He had the nerve to chastise me me just because I told him I do online dating. Listen buddy, you don’t need to brag to me about how you go to bars and hook up with various women. You’re annoying as fuck and no one likes you. Go back to California with the rest of the tree hugging hippies and leave me alone. You’re a self aggrandizing loser.

Learn to not take provocateurs personally

When you ague with a fool there are two fools arguing. This planet dimension is just one grade in our curriculum. The Taoist way is not to fight force with force, but to turn to the side, deflect the negativity and keep moving forward. Always keep moving forward on the higher road.

Self aggrandizing hippy? That's an interesting contradiction.

Keep in mind, American's are a brash, competitive people, he's just doing what he was socialized to do. Canadians have been socialized to be complacent and dull, of course there's going to be a cultural clash. I think both cultures have got it wrong. The middle ground is where it should be.

Laid back

I think it’s funny that so many of the people I’ve known who think they’re laid back are anything but. People who are totally clueless about how other people see them.

Don’t let the ocean for you. VCC may look presentable on the outside, but on the inside, it’s really a garbage dump behind the scenes. Hang in there my friend. I’m sure you’ll find a much better environment with better people.

Word of advice

Our you can tell that people who brag about themselves are just completely insecure. Best thing to do is to just tell them to STFU so that you can get your tasks done. People like that are just as useless as the folks that gave them life. Some people are without a doubt, a toxic waste of offspring.

One of those people that was looking for someone to listen to all his crap. His brain must have been fried to death by the sun. Maybe that explains why he acts like a douche. You won’t see him again. Good riddance.

Hey man

He’s probably one of those people looking for someone to listen to his problems. Don’t let his laidback exterior pull the wool over your eyes. This guy’s got problems. We all have them. Just ignore him.

Arguing with an idiot is like holding a up sword against someone that has no clue what a weapon is. It’s also like pointing a gun at someone it’s never even heard of a firearm. They’re not worth it. Just live your life and leave them behind.

Former employee here

I used work in Maintenance at the Vancouver Convention Centre many years ago. It was the worst place yet. Don’t even get me started. The supervisors were disorganized jerks that didn’t know their asses from their elbows. One person would tell you one thing and another person told you something else. The left hand did not know what the right hand was doing. Their equipment was shitty and always kept breaking down, which made it very difficult for me to finish the job. They hired a lot of useless people that had no concept of the English language. With the complete lack of management to keep things in order, I’m surprised, such a place still even exists. So I totally and completely empathize with you and can’t say I blame you for walking out. You did the right thing. Just be thankful that you don’t have to put up with any of that whole fiasco anymore. There are much better jobs out there, my friend. You deserve to be in a normal environment were people treat you with dignity, compassion and respect. Take care of yourself. Good luck.
