I don’t know what to think

I’m so confused. If someone only says they love you when they’re drunk, is that when they’re being the most honest? When they’re sober (99% of the time) they never say it and they act very cool and casual even though they seem to want to be with me a lot. I don’t know which version of them is the one showing their true feelings.

Could be shyness, could be unwillingness to commit.
Use your best judgment and move on if it’s getting too ambivalent.
I once heard the saying, “if they wanted to, they would.” Sometimes situations are a bit more complicated, but it’s a good tidbit to keep in mind.

Alcohol loosens the tongue and releases inhibitions. That's usually when people tell you how they really feel about you and their true colors come out. This is why if I drink, I drink alone, and I remain out of contact until I'm sober. I made the drunken mistake of letting my guard down once. Turned into the most painful experience of my life. When I make a mistake and learn a harsh lesson like never to fully trust anyone, I do my best not to repeat it.

Remember the saying: never take it seriously when a drunk man talk.
When they are sober, clear headed, why won’t they tell you they love you? Why wait til they are drunk? So when they come to their senses, they decided to be cool? So what does that tell you?
To me, it doesn’t count.
