I don't think any of us can imagine the damage done to the youth of 10-19 years old who had two of their formative years taken away. we can't understand because none of us went through something like that.

Parents who think of their children as though they are gods are NOT parenting at all.

That’s just not always true. Perhaps if parents were raising their children on a deserted island somewhere without the influence of anyone else, but not in the world they live in today. Children are the reflection of the whole society they’re living in. They are influenced not just by their parents but by their friends and media. Parents only have so much control over their children, and the laws in this part of the world give parents very few rights when it comes to exerting actual control over their kids. Unfortunately the attitudes that are regularly shown on social media are of children behaving like indulged brats and receiving zero consequences for bad behaviour. They’re emulating what they see, and not just from their parents.

I am in high school and its all true. Also, its not the parents. Ive known a lot of these people for years and mostly their parents are really good people. Its the pack mentality. Its the pressure to be edgy and get the LOLZ. Everyone is egging each other on to be mean and shitty. Im not saying im totally innocent, im sure ive been a shit head too. But this teacher is right and its sad.

To a local grocery store and pass a junior high school, and have befriended one of the maintenance guys out on his breaks.
He says the same- the girls are the worst these days. Bathrooms a disaster, fighting, swearing, etc etc so much that he's taking early retirement at Christmas

It would be great if more than 1% of the population asked themselves if it was moral to bring another human being on to this planet.

I heard some experts on CBC radio this morning saying that the lockdown and continued restrictions (on extracurricular activities, etc.) have led to incredible stress for kids and there's little to no support to help them deal with it. Kids, even as young as 10, are winding up in the hospital with issues and suicide attempts. Lockdown restrictions, loss of social supports and activities, financial anxiety, I expect marriage breakdowns with kids experiencing that emotional fallout and poverty that can go with that, climate change anxiety - it's all a pressure cooker for them, and there's a total lack of support (medical, counselling, etc.) to help them cope. Such a challenging time for them, and yes, challenging for the teachers who have to deal with it daily.

Its true. At my school a group of boys got busted watching Anime porn in class. The boys got in trouble and they were so pissed off that they started cyber stalking and harassing the teacher who busted them. They even started sending her rape threats and there was a rumour they made a deep fake porn of the teacher!!! She had a breakdown and took a leave of absence. The boys got a slap on the wrist and they continue to be assholes to every one. It really sucks for students that just want to learn in peace. I feel bad for teachers and dont blame them for quitting.

As a former public school teacher I have seen some shit. One time a group text was leaked from group of typical “popular” girls. They had been planning on befriending this new, somewhat chubby and awkward girl with the intention of beating her up. They had a whole ass plan. They were going to invite her to a party then gang up on her. THEY HAD A PLAN!!! These girls were well off, popular and mostly white. It was SCANDALOUS!!! I have so many more.

The parents scared of the kids. They're afraid they will get cancelled for being terrible parents, so the kids become animals.
