Things are really weird in Canada

Like, why aren't people getting along? It's a relatively safe area that people want to live in... instead, people are being forced to agree with ideas like it is some extremist totalitarian time?

Yet here you are trying to divide people on anti-social media with all sorts of straw man posts

But I give thanks to live in Canada (Kana'ta in the original Indigenous language). Sure Canada ain't perfect but as Winston Churchill said: "Democracy is the worst form of government except for all the others." So, suggest we give thanks for the beauty of life we have in Canada and remember half this World's people would love to have what we have. Consider all the refugees running for their lives who risk jumping in over-crowded leaky boats trying to reach here. So to the complainers, sure times is getting more and more challenging for everyone living on this Planet, but Canada is still a land of opportunity and if you rise above the superficial finger-pointing false duality and get positive, your lives will improve.

Nobody's forcing you to Agree with any ideas, you're the one making a big deal about having to Respect them. That's how it works here. Stop trying to polarize everything that you don't understand and this will be a nicer place for everyone.

Who is being forced to agree with what? There is no obligation to agree with anything. We aren't arrested for it here.

I see this happening all over the world. It’s definitely not the norm for Canadians to be dealing with so much censorship though, because we’ve been raised with a free speech system. But there are forces at work that have been eroding free speech for some time now. What I find most disturbing is that some of the worst censorship is happening in academic institutions. If you don’t use exactly the specific language they want now, you’re facing being accused of all kinds of bad things. I’m not in favour of genuine hate speech towards any group of people and don’t believe that should be tolerated, but I think we’ve gone too far as a society when people are afraid to voice any opinion that doesn’t fit within the current “acceptable” thought system.
