“Woke” is a joke

I wonder if I’m the only person who feels that the word “Wokeness” is so overused these days. It’s just another laughable “controversy” created by people who claim to hate cancel culture but spend their time cancelling groups they don't like.

Are you against the whole idea of wokeness or are you against the people who overuse the words woke and wokeness as derogatory terms? Like Ron DeSantis in Florida who is obsessed with wokeness and won't shut up about it. I have never heard anyone who is actually woke ever say that word or refer to it in any way.

You're not the only one.

The irony is unreal. The folks who mock others for being triggered and lament, "you can't say ANYTHING these days" can't handle even the most featherweight challenge to their beliefs without flying off the handle.

The people who use that word

Are usually white people when they describe anyone that disagrees with them. Probably due to fragility and being over sensitive. Kind if like a delicate structure made of frozen water. Lol

Woke is when you stop sleeping, I feel kinda groggy then.
Not until I been up for a few minutes is when I feel awake, usually after a coffee. So, I think it is a bad term. It implies some kind of awareness that one has over another, which is often not the case. A holier than thou attitude.

Yes the 'Woke' word is misused and overused

Sleep is a natural and important part of our health, and so is 'waking up' and not oversleeping though a freaky nightmare of these perilous times when you (and all life) are at risk of being hurt. Quit letting the devious 'hurters' play word games with us. Woke is needful and positive !

Just part of the vernacular of weaponized phrases like”cuck”, “soy”, “sjw”, etc, popular with white nationalists and then alt-right in the lead-up to the 2016 US Presidential election. The intention was to push loaded phrases to become viral as insults and normalize neo-Nazi messaging. It’s why fewer and fewer fewer people can debate topics without resorting to ad hominem personal attacks. It’s misleading to even call this “conservative”. Conservatives have had their politics hijacked by post-truth grifters and malignant narcissism. Canadians aren’t immune.

You're upset that the cancel culture of woke individuals is getting cancelled by the people that don't like the cancel culture of the woke individuals? There will always be a backlash, and people will always reap what they sow.

Hi everyone, I really appreciate hearing different perspectives. So to sum it up, yes, this post was meant to say how disgusted I am with people that are using the words “woke” and “Wokeness” us as derogatory terms directed towards people in the LGBTQ community. Let’s all learn to get along and be kind to one another. Love and forgive everybody. It’s a good life, enjoy it.
