Dating With Kids

So this guy told me that he wouldn't date me because I have two children. I told him he doesn't have to look after my kids because their Fathers are in their lives. Its been a week and he hasn't texted me back. Dating with children is hard.

Some single parents have extra baggage. I've dated women who still every now and then hook up with their kids parent. Some of them had multiple kids with different people. Others use their kids as a reason why they ghosted or why they do things that gas light new beaus. I'm an adult and people with kids are fine, but just as many have red flags. If people have been scarred by trying to date people with kids, it would explain skittishness. Other people can often getting clingy to people's kids and go from dating to thinking they're raising someone else kid and take everything way to serious to quick.

People know that's complicated relationship stuff. It's hard to commit to that right off the get go.

I've dated a few parents. For me the only issue was extra scheduling considerations. Butt where there's a will, there's a way. Sort of.

The most important priority is your kids, then your parents, then you BFFs, your career- and then comes the guy. He knows he'll never be that important to you, being so far down the list.

We humans were not created to live isolated lonely lives. Some critters are: ie. cougars (the 4 legged type :-), some birds, etc. They only mate once a year then live solitary. But until the onset of the industrial devolution and its resultant colonialism mentality, us humans lived in extended families and villages where people helped each other. An indigenous teaching is: "True wealth is what we can share with others." .... OCM Coast Salish salutations.
