For me tipping is beyond food, something exceptional not normal service. I pay for the food. That's the transaction. Everyone gets paid for doing a job, if you don't question the choice of employment or the wage. If I tip I'm generous because I see someone genuinely deserves it or is above doing way above what's expected. My generosity shouldn't be taken for granted.

Going to my favourite coffee shop because they prompt you for tips if you're paying with debit. It just feels so awkward declining this with the staff person standing there staring at you. So I just make my coffee at home. Saving money and awkwardness. Win win.

This is SO TRUE! Like why does it need to be a mandatory prompt on the machine. And the staff person is literally just staring at you when it's time to pay. Like it's a $7 beverage but also add a $1 tip to the staff who sometimes doesn't even greet you first. Idk

Bad or non tippers… just says a lot about their selfish personality.
