What next ?

I find myself in a constant state of anxiety because of the economic, housing and food prices i worry about losing my apartment and my job like most I’m 1 pay check away from losing everything. We have been run into the ground and it only seems to be getting worse not better. How much longer can I keep this up. Thank you Canadian government for running us into the ground. Yours truly a struggle Canadian

But its not just the Canadian government. In fact this whole World is increasingly challenged and in great peril. And actually, if as you short sightedly say by criticizing the Canadian PTBs, how come most of the people of this World would love to be here? How come they risk their lives jumping into leaky overcrowded boats to reach a place like Canada? So I suggest to all those sucked into the OCD Conspiracy rabbit hole that they take a deep breath and look in the mirror at themselves and what all of our priorities need be to build a better World.

"how come most of the people of this World would love to be here? "
Because of free housing, free money, and free healthcare, plus Justin putting it out there that he won't turn away illegal migrants.

Yes, we're exiting the longest period of peace and prosperity in world history and entering a period of conflict, and upheaval due to climate change. Those who will get hammered the hardest are in the developing world. We can blame unbridled capitalism for some of it, and the usual reasons for the rest. Economic Gain, Territorial Gain, Religion, Nationalism, Revenge, Civil War, Revolutionary War
and Defensive War

Why do we have news articles about how immigrants are choosing to leave? How is it that a refugee from Ukraine could decide that their life here actually sucks more and go back?

"How come most of the people of this World would love to be here?" Because they're highly misinformed. They're not told that they won't be able to find any affordable housing and that they'll end up having to sleep under a bridge in our sub zero temperatures. There are a lot of immigrants that are homeless and struggling, not just people that were born here.

@ What's next

Maybe government collapse, maybe civil unrest, maybe global nuclear war, maybe an alien invasion followed by a zombie apocalypse... Don't worry or be anxious. It won't do you any good. Just plan & prepare like you're going on some extended camping, hunting, & fishing trip. Look up YouTube vids about prepping, hunting, and survival. Get some seeds to grow some food wherever you may end up. Maybe move to someplace rural if you can, or start a local group on FB or Telegram with like minded people you can network with.
For myself I'm not the least bit worried. Aside from having my faith in my Higher power, I grew up in Army Cadets until I became an adult. The world could end tomorrow and I'd be off in the middle of nowhere by some river with my fishing rod not giving a shit about anything.

Survival strategies are legit, but those who don't "give a sh*t about anything" are lacking heart. Compassion and love is what links us with the infinite truth, beauty and goodness. To those who 'don't give a sh*t' i hope you did have a good poop before Dec. 31 so that you don't carry your sh*t into the New Year .... ps: To our VPN down-voters .... please consider first down pooping into the toilet before you sh*t onto this Straight Forum.

Is it the government's sole responsibility when you are struggling with money problems. How specifically have they run 'us' into the ground. Which legislation are you referring to? What should they do specifically for you as an individual and then also for every other of the millions of people out there? Enact a bunch of new laws immediately? Force your employer to pay you more? Force grocery stores to charge less? Force your bank or landlord to take less payments? Build housing? Government's hand in every aspect of our lives? If you want that than everyone better be happy with much higher taxation. Is it removing responsibility from your own education, career and area of living choices. One has to be adaptable and willing to move as the circumstances change around us. If you really think the opposition parties have a will or a way to have prevented your situation, by all means have a think about what that would entail in reality.

I agree with your statement, but you could have avoided this 300 word essay by thinking about one word: taxes.
And recently, inflation- caused by massive gov't over spending.

I've lived part time in the US, with zero state income tax. Gas half the price, groceries half the price, beach view apartment for $120k, etc etc

I can see what you’re trying to say, but it sounds very much like you’re speaking from a position of privilege. Not everyone has the same head starts in life, and unless you’ve walked in the shoes of someone who didn’t have the same advantages that you did, you might consider sitting back and listening to those people. There are SO many reasons for why a person might be struggling in this current economic environment. Illness, divorce, disability, discrimination based on a myriad of factors, job loss, etc. It’s so easy for people who haven’t experienced these issues to sit back comfortably and make assumptions based on a lot of missing information.

Sounds great in the states. Why don’t you live there full time? Also which state has zero income tax?
