Long before the study came out about alcohol being linked to cancer, I gave it up a couple years ago. Being sober has never been better. My mind is more clear, I have way better relationships with my family and coworkers, and I can finally hear myself think. It does take time to think normally again, but the road to sobriety requires self-discipline. Joe patience.

Have been drinking for decades and it's been a highly up and down experience.

Non-drinkers on the other hand seem to be for the most part immature as human beings.

Me too it's much more refreshing to be sober.
99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of
" hiccup" beer.

Oops :)

Oh that taste!

If everything tasted like whiskey, oooh. So yummy. Sipping as I type. Thank God I can handle it. I feel sorry for those who can't but their decision to abstain is the right choice. Way to go!

Sorry but I’m so tired of hearing yet another person who had a problem handling booze brag about how wonderful life is without it now that they’ve stopped. Don’t get me wrong: I’m happy for anyone who had a problem and managed to give it up. But I’m sick of having to listen to far too many of the former drinkers trying to convince everyone else that they’re superior beings now. I have exactly 3 friends who used to be heavy drinkers who realized they’d had a problem and eventually got sober. Every one of them is now just like those people who find religion and feel compelled to tell the rest of the world that they need to be saved. Not everyone has a problem handling alcohol. Some of us can enjoy a drink or two and know when to stop. Please stop trying to make the entire world sober, because honestly, sometimes I really do enjoy having a drink and I’m going to keep on enjoying it because I can do so without losing myself in it.

You don't have to get trashed every day.

It's only if you drink a lot like 4 strong drinks every single day for years- and it increases your chances of cancer by 50 to 200% in cancers that are not common to begin with.

Europeans drink wine etc most of the time and have better health.
And you what's the major killer? Stress, with crappy eating causes cardiovascular diseases and is the leading cause of death.

So eat better...and if you need a glass of wine and a couple on weekends to unwind -just enjoy yourself.

Thank you for saying what a lot of people think.
Those of us in the cannabis community feel the same way about the self-righteous ex-stoners.
