… for a job. Frustrated. I have a ton of skills but have not landed on my feet. An acquaintance with very few skills quickly got a govt job with good salary and benefits. Happy for her, truly, but my engine has been revving for so long, and still, no job. Frustrated!

Many are having the same challenges

Navigating thru the shifting sands and bureacratic log jams of these times. What helped me tho was doing for myself, by being my own boss. One time in opening up a food retail shop. I didn't have sufficient savings to start the shop but my credit rating was good and a bank funded me. It was sufficiently successful but I didn't like being so tied down, so then I had another career as a self employed carpenter. I always did well. I wish you the best.

Finding a job nowadays is so full of jumping through hoops of website red tape. It’s exhausting and dehumanizing more than ever before. You have to prove yourself to a robot just to get through to an actual human. Ridiculous. But the best piece of advice I can offer is to practice networking. If you are really struggling, there are also many programs available for job seekers where you will learn all kinds of skills and techniques for navigating the market. Please investigate these programs because they can be very helpful. (Speaking from experience here!)
