Win tickets to FourPlay: New Work by Excited Writers at Studio 58

FourPlay: New Work by Excited Writers continues a Studio 58 tradition. This year marks the 12th mounting of this popular festival of one-act plays, featuring original work by Studio 58 students and recent graduates, once again under the tutelage of award-winning playwright Aaron Bushkowsky. In two exciting programs, directed by four of BC’s best directors, the six playwrights delve into contemporary themes with a sharp eye and fresh voice.

Aaron Bushkowsky writes, “This year's FourPlay offers us diverse and challenging plays from the harrowing Soviet occupation of Hungary to a funny musical about the word ‘ain't’. And, in between, a play about a First Nations family coping with prejudice and disconnection, and a modern-day story about gender identity and sexual awakening with fries on the side. These pieces have something for everybody and show great potential. I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I have working on them as a dramaturge and mentor. Congratulations to our first-time playwrights. Have fun and play!”

Plays contain mature language and subject matter.
