Kokoro Dance, Canada’s preeminent butoh dance company, presents the world premiere of Reading the Bones, the company’s latest full-length work featuring Katie Cassady, Molly McDermott, Deanna Peters, Salomé Nieto, and Barbara Bourget, September 18 – 21 and 25 – 28, 2019 at the Roundhouse Performance Centre. Choreographed by Co-Directors Barbara Bourget and Jay Hirabayashi, and set to a commissioned score by their son, Joseph Hirabayashi with lighting designed by Gerald King, Reading the Bones is a distillation of the choreographic bones of Kokoro Dance’s 33-year history butoh-inspired creations.
