Win tickets to Rumi Symphony Project, with Shahram and Hafez Nazeri

Win two tickets to attend the sublime and magnificent Rumi Symphony Project at the Orpheum Theatre on Sunday October 28 at 7 p.m., featuring Iran's Pavarotti, Shahram Nazeri, and an all-start ensemble of Western and Persian musicians.

Returning to Vancouver, with an all star ensemble, after a four year absence, Iran's celebrated musical father and son team present an unforgettable evening of classics and new works from the Rumi Symphony Project. Hafez Nazeri's Untold was the first album by a Middle Eastern artist to hit #1 on Billboard.com’s Classical charts and aims to promote love, peace and unity through the words of the great poet and philosopher 'Rumi' as expressed by Shahram Nazeri, one of the great voices of his generation.

The musicians are an impressive group and include Kurdish percussionist Hussein Zahawy on daf, who was featured on the Kingdom of Heaven soundtrack; Farhad Safari, on innovative new percussion; cellist Felix Fan, who has worked with Yo-Yo Ma and Philip Glass; violinist Conrad Harris who champions new music as a member of FLUX Quartet; and violist Liuh-Wen Ting, who has collaborated with the Manhattan String Quartet. Russian-born soprano Maria Sokolovsky and mezzo-soprano Anna Yelizarova also join. Maria has enjoyed a prolific career in classical, jazz and world music, while Anna has performed over 25 opera roles around the world. They embody the cultural bridge Nazeri hopes to build with the Rumi Symphony project.
