musica intima's first concert of our 19/20 series, amore/dolore, is coming up on October 25! An exploration of love - the sweet and the painful - the concert will revolve around Morten Lauridsen's Madrigali. The twelve voices of musica intima will perform music of seventeenth-century madrigalists Gesualdo and Monteverdi, contemporary composers David Lang and Sven-David Sandström, as well as Jeffrey Ryan's heartrending "On Monsieur's Departure" - written to words of Elizabeth I - "I grieve and dare not show my discontent, I love and yet am forced to seem to hate."
