COVID-19 in B.C.: 31 schools and one school bus route with new exposures across province

      All five regional health authorities had schools with new exposure dates, for a total of 31 schools, plus one school bus route.

      Although Fraser Health and Surrey continued to have the most schools with new dates, they had less schools than previous days.

      For the first time in a while, Island Health had a school with a new exposure: Wood Elementary (4111 Wood Avenue) in Port Alberni, which had a previous exposure on October 19, had exposures from December 15 to 18.

      Northern Health had one school with new dates. 

      In Fort St. John, Bert Bowes Middle School (9816 106th Street)—which had previous exposures on November 16, 18, and 20; on November 30; and from November 30 to December 4—had new exposures from December 14 to 16.

      Interior Health had only one school in Kelowna with new exposure dates: Springvalley Middle School (350 Ziprick Road)—which previously had exposures on November 12, 13, and 16—had new exposures on November 9 and 11.

      Vancouver Coastal Health had four schools in Vancouver with new exposure dates.

      • Point Grey Secondary School (5350 East Boulevard), which previously had an exposure on October 16, had exposures from December 15 to 16;
      • Edith Cavell Elementary School (500 West 20th Avenue) had exposures from December 14 to 18;
      • Maple Grove Elementary School (6199 Cypress Street) had exposures from December 16 to 17;
      • York House School (4176 Alexandra Street) had exposures from December 16 to 17.

      Fraser Health

      Fraser Health had 24 schools with new exposure dates.

      In Abbotsford, five schools had new exposures:

      • Abbotsford Traditional Middle (2272 Windsor Street), which previously had exposures from December 3 to 4 and 7 to 8—added December 9 to 11 and 14;
      • Abbotsford Traditional Secondary School (2272 Windsor Street)—which previously had exposures from November 18 to 20; and from December 8 to 11—added December 15;
      • Dr. Roberta Bondar Elementary (32717 Chilcotin Drive), which previously had an exposure event from October 8 to 9, added December 8;
      • W.J. Mouat Secondary (32355 Mouat Drive)—which previously had exposures on November 10 and 17; and from December 7 to 8—added December 17;
      • Yale Secondary (34620 Old Yale Road)—which previously had an exposure from November 30 to December 1; and from December 8 to 9—added December 15 to 16.

      Four schools in Burnaby had new exposures: 

      • Lakeview Elementary (7777 Mayfield Street), which previously had exposures from October 13 to 14, had exposures from December 16 to 18;
      • Morley Elementary (7355 Morley Street), which previously had exposures from November 3 to 4 and on November 6, added December 16 to 18;
      • Holy Cross Elementary School (1450 Delta Avenue), which previously had exposures from December 14 to 16, added December 17;
      • St. Thomas More Collegiate (7450 12th Avenue), which previously had exposures on October 29 and November 2, had an exposure event from December 14 to 17.

      In Coquitlam, Summit Middle School (1450 Parkway Boulevard)—which had previous exposures from October 13 to 14; from November 16 to 17; on November 20; and from November 18 to 19—added December 16.

      Four schools and one bus route in Chilliwack had new exposures:

      • Chilliwack Middle School (46354 Yale Road), which previously had an exposure event from November 30 to December 1, added December 17 and 18;
      • Chilliwack Secondary (46363 Yale Road)—which previously had exposure events from September 22 to 24; from October 26 to 29; from November 3 to 5; from November 12 to 13; on November 17; from November 23 to 26; from November 30 to December 2; on December 3; from December 2 to 4 and 11; and from December 14 to 16—added December 17;
      • Sardis Elementary (45775 Manuel Road)—which previously had an exposure on November 20; from 24 to 25; from November 30 to December 2; from December 8 to 9; and December 7, 10, and 14 to 16—added December 17 to 18;
      • Sardis Secondary (45460 Stevenson Road)—which previously had exposures from October 26 to 30from November 23 to 25; on November 30; from December 1 to 2; and on December 8 to 11—added December 14 to 16 as exposure dates;
      • School Bus Route 19 had exposures on December 9, 14, 15, and 16.

      In Delta, Sands Secondary (10840 82nd Avenue)—which had a previous exposure event from October 19 to 22; and another exposure on November 5—added December 15 to 17.

      Two schools in Langley had new exposures:

      • Betty Gilbert Middle School (26845 27th Avenue) in Aldergrove, which had previous exposures from December 7 to 8 and 10 to 11, added December 14 to 15;
      • Noel Booth Elementary (20202 35th Avenue) had exposures on December 11 and 17.

      In New Westminster, New Westminster Secondary (835 8th Street)—which previously had exposures from September 15 to 17; from October 14 to 16 and 20 to 21; from October 26 to 27; from November 2 to 3; on November 9; from November 18 to 20on November 23; on November 27 and 30, and December 1; and on December 3, 4, and 7—added December 8, 14, 15, and 17.

      Prince Charles Elementary

      Significantly less than previous days, Surrey had seven schools with new exposures:

      • Cloverdale Traditional (17857 56 Avenue)—which had previous exposures from November 12 to 13; and from December 7 to 9—added December 14 to 16;
      • Earl Marriott Secondary (15751 16th Avenue)—which previously had exposures on September 17, 18, 21, and 23; from November 2 to 4; from November 3 to 5; and on December 7, 10, and 11; and from December 14 to 17—added December 18 as a new exposure;
      • Johnston Heights Secondary (15350 99 Avenue)—which previously had exposure event from September 8 to 11; on October 19; from November 9 to 12; on November 13; from November 16 to 20; from November 23 to 25; December 3 to 4 and 7 to 10; and on December 11—added December 14 and 16 to 18;
      • Kirkbride Elementary (12150 92nd Avenue)—which previously had exposures from November 25 to 27; and on November 20, 23, and 24—added December 14 and 15;
      • Prince Charles Elementary (12405 100th Avenue) had exposures from December 15 to 16;
      • Khalsa School Newton (6933 124th Street)—which previously had exposure events from September 22 to 25; from October 20 to 22; from October 28 to 30; from November 16 to 17; from November 18 to 20; from November 23 to 24; on November 26, 27, and 30; from December 1 to 2; on December 4 and 11; from December 9 to 10; and on December 15—added December 16;
      • Woodward Hill Elementary (6082 142 Street)—which previously had exposures from October 14 to 16 and 19 to 20; from November 16 to 18; and on December 4, 9, 10, and 11—added December 15 to 17.
