As the incubation period for COVID-19 can be up to 14 days, cases in schools are still being reported, even though schools have closed for winter vacations.

Four regional health authorities had a total of 39 schools, and one school bus route, with new exposure dates.

At today's B.C. COVID-19 update, B.C. provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry presented a modelling update and also provided data about cases in schools for recent months. She said that although cases have been appearing in schools as exposure events, transmission has been low within schools and most cases are contracted from sources outside schools.
