B.C.'s favourite defender in the battle against COVID-19, provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, will give the opening keynote address at an online kids' event next month.

Henry will speak at the start of the Girls and STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts and Design, and Math) virtual symposium, which takes place November 7 at Science World.

The third annual event is a day of workshops and mentorship geared towards future scientists, inventors, and innovators  between the ages of 11 and 13. Girls who are into science, tech, engineering, art and design, and math are encouraged to take in the free event.

Closing keynote speaker will be environmental researcher Sarika Cullis-Suzuki.
