You've got new options if you were hoping to catch the League of Legends spring playoffs somewhere other than the usual platforms of Twitch, YouTube, and Lolesports.

Starting today with a match between 100 Thieves and Team SoloMid, ESPN has begun broadcasting the 2020 LCS Spring Split Playoffs and Finals. The action takes place on both the ESPN app and ESPN2.

Upcoming tilts include the Evil Geniuses vs. Cloud9 on ESPN2 Saturday (April 11) at 4 p.m. EST, and the Finals Championship on ESPN2 on April 19 at 4:30 p.m. EST.

Five matches in total are airing on ESPN platforms, speaking to the rising profile of eSports at a time when traditional sports leagues have shut down.  Last weekend saw the sports giant fill programming with NBA 2K20 tournament action, as well a rebroadcast of the Rocket League Season 8 World Championship Grand Final.

The Spring Split Playoffs are one of the cornerstones of League of Legends competitive play. The winner of the North American crown will head to July's League of Legends 2020 Mid-Season Invitational, which is part of the lead-up to the Worlds. Normally scheduled between the first and second splits of all regions, this year's MSI was pushed back because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here's the ESPN Spring Split Playoffs schedule:

Round 1: April 8 at 1p.m. PT – 100 Thieves vs. TSM – ESPN App

      Round 2: April 11 at 1p.m. PT – Evil Geniuses vs. Cloud9 – ESPN2; April 12 at 1p.m. PT – FlyQuest vs. Winner of April 8 Match – ESPN2

      Finals weekend: April 18 at 1p.m. PT – third-place matchup - ESPN2; April 19 at 1:30 p.m. PT – Finals Championship – ESPN2

All matches aired on ESPN2 will be available on-demand in the ESPN App immediately following competition.
