If the greatness of any special live event is measured by the memorabilia, then the Seattle Surge’s first Call of Duty League home series already qualifies as a smash success.

The three-day event kicked off down south in the Emerald City today, with highlights including an online watch party tonight with prizes and celebrity guests, and, of course, almost continuous online action featuring eight of the league’s 12 teams. (The standings-leading Atlanta FaZe and Dallas Empire aren't playing)

What might be most coveted for fans though is the weekend’s  limited edition Seattle Surge T-shirts, which have been cleverly designed as a tribute to the city’s dearly departed basketball team the Seattle Supersonics (see above). Get scrambling, because they aren’t going to last long.

As for the online watch party where you'll find the special guests and prizes, take part on Discord here.

Those hoping to watch the Surge in action are already aware that initial plans to have games at the WaMu Theater at Century Link Field were derailed by the COVID-19 outbreak. The good news is that matches are being broadcast on Call of Duty League’s YouTube channel.

That includes Seattle’s home series kick-off match against the New York Subliners tonight at 5:30 PST.
