The fifth annual Curry Cup competition will take place on March 13 at Heritage Hall (3102 Main Street) from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Presented by the Chefs’ Table Society of B.C., eight Vancouver chefs who don’t normally create curry dishes will come face-to-face and compete for the coveted Curry Cup championship title.

      The 2018 competing chefs include:

      • Elizabeth Bryan, Dock Lunch
      • Shelome Bouvette, Chicha
      • Andrea Carlson, Burdock and Co.
      • Tim Evans, The Cascade Room
      • Karl Gregg, Colony on Main
      • Mark Hills, Hills Foods
      • Alana Peckham, Northwest Culinary Academy of Vancouver
      • Alessandro Vianello, Gooseneck Hospitality

Fred Lee will be hosting the event once again, who will be joined by a panel of judges that include Felix Zhou of Heritage Asian Eatery (and last year’s winner), Taryn Wa (the first winner), and Vikram Vij of Vij’s Restaurant, among others.

Spectators and curry-lovers are invited to take part in this cooking showdown, which will guarantee some tasty bites and curry-sampling.

Tickets ($69 plus taxes and fees) can be purchased online, and include curry samples from each competing chef, cocktail and wine samples, beer tastings, and dessert doughnuts from Cartems.

Partial ticket proceeds go toward Project Chef—a non-profit program that partners with Vancouver School Board to teach children about healthy food choices.
