B.C. Distilled, Canada’s premier artisanal distillery festival, is returning to Vancouver on April 14 for its biggest iteration yet.

A celebration of regionally produced spirits, this year’s event will feature gins, vodkas, whiskies, and other artisan sips from a whopping 40 distilleries, including Ampersand Distilling Company, Sons of Vancouver Distillery, and Odd Society Spirits. Among the participants are 12 establishments, such as Salt Spring Shine Craft Distillery, and Resurrection Spirits, and Tumbleweed Spirits Craft Distillery, that have all, impressively, opened since last spring’s fete.

“British Columbia is the leader in artisan distilling in Canada,” said festival founder Alex Hamer in a media release. “B.C. Distilled is the best opportunity for fans of local spirits to try what the province has to offer, and meet the people who make these great spirits.”

In addition to samples of a myriad of spirits and the chance to interact with the distillers behind them, B.C. Distilled will feature a selection of canapes prvided by local reastaurants and caterers, and a Legacy Liquor pop-up store where visitors may buy bottles of their favourite libations to take home.

The festival’s charity partner, Pacific Assistance Dogs Society, will also host a silent auction and have pups onsite for attendees to play with. Partial proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Burnaby-based nonprofit, too, which breeds, raises, and trains certified assistance dogs for people living with disabilities. Tickets to the main tasting event start at $59.99 online.

Leading up to the event, Vancouverites can also purchase tickets to a distiller’s dinner at downtown farm-to-table restaurant Forage, which will see chef Chris Whittaker preparing a six-course, terroir-based meal that pairs with six cocktail and spirit samples. The dinner takes place on April 6 and tickets start at $119.
