A West Vancouver grocery store is expanding its reach into the downtown Vancouver market.

The specialty grocery store Farm to Table Market, run by husband-and-wife team Jason Yang and Eva Jing, opened its first store at 1476 Marine Drive in West Vancouver back in 2011.

Yang told the Georgia Straight that they're currently renovating a space at 1312 Richards Street (at Drake Street) in Yaletown, and are aiming to have a soft-opening on June 1 (with a grand opening anticipated for mid-June).

The store, which focuses on fresh, local, and organic food by working with local farmers and artisan vendors, will carry fresh produce, fresh meat, dairy, and a variety of groceries and specialty products.

But the even better news for shoppers is that because the Yaletown location, at approximately 1,900 square feet, will be larger than their West Van spot, which is 1,200 square feet, the variety of selections will be even broader.

The larger space at the Yaletown spot will allow for an expanded product section and will introduce new elements such as prepared food, a salad bar, and seafood.

The company also imports specialty products such as Italian Burrata cheese, triple crème brie cheese and grass-fed butter from France, olive oil from Spain and Italy, and more.
