When an outdoor food event takes place in an already thriving food-and-drink neighbourhood, you know it’s going to be good.

The third annual Chef Meets Truck returns to Yaletown on June 12 (6 to 9 p.m.) at the intersection of Hamilton and Nelson Street, where local restaurant chefs will be collaborating with popular food trucks to cook up some tasty grub.

Hosted by the Chefs’ Table Society of B.C. and the Yaletown Business Improvement Association, this year’s participating chefs and restaurants include Erin Stone (North Arm Farm), Andrea Fladhamer (Fiore Restaurants), Adam Chandler (Beta5), Justin Cheung (Longtail Kitchen), Hilary Nguy (Temaki Sushi), Mark Singson (Food Art Music Inc.), Tony Starratt (Two Rivers Meats), and Felix Zhou (Heritage Asian Eatery).

Featured food trucks include Melt Shop Truck, Kafka Truck, Via Tevere, Mom’s Grilled Cheese, Roaming Dragon, and more.

Tickets ($69 plus taxes and fees) include food, wine samples from Cedar Creek Estate Winery, beer samples from Parallel 49 Brewing, gin fizz cocktails from Central City Brewing, and kombucha from Biota Fermentation. Guests must be 19 years or older to attend this event.

A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
