Family-style dinners are best enjoyed with good company—and maybe a gondola ride that brings you 885 metres above Howe Sound for beautiful evening views to pair with your meal.

The Sea to Sky Gondola (36800 BC-99, Squamish) will be hosting several backyard seafood boils at its Summit Plaza every Thursday this summer (July 12 to August 30) from 6 to 9 p.m.

It’ll feel like you’re enjoying a multicourse dinner on someone’s outdoor patio, except you’ll be surrounded with hiking trails and picture-perfect scenery.

The menu will include crusty bread, homemade pasta salad, Caesar salad, corn on the cob, and potatoes. As for the seafood boil, expect everything from mussels to shrimps to crab claws. Southern-style iced tea will also be served to quench your thirst.

For those who don’t usually venture outside of the city to explore B.C.’s lush offerings, you’re missing out. We can confirm that this Squamish attraction is a nice way for the entire brood to ease into summer hiking routines.

Tickets for non-passholders ($21.55 to $101.19) include taxes and gratuity, as well as the seafood boil and lift ticket.
