The team behind North Vancouver’s Workshop Vegetarian Café (296 Pemberton Avenue) has been working diligently to set up another shop in the city, and it has finally come to fruition.

Grain Vegetarian Fare (3596 East Hastings Street) quietly made its debut today (August 13) in East Van, offering everything from vegetarian and vegan foods to organic coffee and local goods.

The Japanese-inspired marketplace and café will offer a different menu than its sister establishment, but if the latter is an indication of what guests can find at the new spot, we should be able to taste mouth-watering and wholesome items.

According to photos posted by social media users, the vegetarian and vegan-friendly eatery serves up build-your-own udon soups (with a gluten-free rice noodle option), a variety of toasts, healthy bowls, and a selection of baked goods.

We’re sure Grain’s menu will expand once its soft-opening days are over. The health-conscious business is open Monday to Friday (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.), and closed on weekends.
