A family-run West Side eatery decided to call it quits after 14 years of serving up brunch.

The owners of the 9th Avenue Grill, located at 1822 West Broadway near Burrard, announced on June 28 that their last day of operation would be on June 29.

Serving the Kitsilano and South Granville neighbourhoods, the restaurant, which opened in 2004, was officially sold to new owners on July 1.

Their breakfast menu offered a variety of items such as maple bacon pancakes, cinnamon French toast, black bean chorizo hash with eggs, and a range of omelettes and eggs benedict while their lunch menu covered burgers, wraps, sandwiches, quesadillas, and more.

The establishment also participated in charity campaigns, such as donating proceeds from special menu items to organizations like Music Heals Canada, Pacific Assistance Dogs Society, or Grey Haven Exotic Bird Sanctuary, or to local elementary schools in need.

The restaurant will be replaced by Viet Flavour Restaurant.
