Two Bowen Island Brewing beer products are being recalled due to concerns about defective cans.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced on August 28 that Northam Beverages has issued a recalled Bowen Island Brewing brand beer.

Some of the cans have defective seams that may have sharp metal sticking out from the rim. According to the CFIA, no injuries have been reported from these products.

The recall affects two Bowen Island Brewing brand products in six-packs of 355-millilitre cans, which are available in British Columbia and Alberta: Artisan IPA (India Pale Ale) (with codes starting with L18207, L18187, or L18215) and West Coast Lager (with codes starting with L18207).

These recalled products should be discarded or returned to the store of purchase.

The CFIA is verifying that the product is being removed from the stores and is conducting an investigation which may lead to the recall of other products.
