Gourmet pasta takeout spot set to open in the West End

Another Italian eatery is opening up in the city, and we’re not complaining.

The Sauce Pasta Cafe (861 Denman Street) is gearing up for its debut on Saturday (September 8), offering a menu that will showcase its gourmet pasta sauces made in-house.

Unlike conventional pasta restaurants, this soon-to-open spot will mainly operate as a pasta takeout bar. That means guests won’t have to wait to be seated before ordering restaurant quality dishes, but there will be seating available for those who want to enjoy their meal inside the dining establishment.

Customers will be able to choose from a variety of sauces (including creamy mushroom, nonna’s meat sauce, marinara, and vodka cream sauce) and pasta (such as pappardelle, penne, spaghetti, gnocchi, and fettuccine).

Daily specials will be on offer, as well as a single dessert option: classic tiramisu made with espresso soaked cake, mascarpone, and whipped cream.

As long as Vancouver's summer sun is still shining, this will be a convenient joint for Italian food-lovers to grab some tasty pasta to enjoy on the beach.
