A burger chain is continuing its expansion across B.C with a new location in Vancouver.

Johnny Rockets Canada opened its second Vancouver location at 2538 Oak Street near West Broadway in a LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building, which includes high-efficiency kitchens.

This Fairview spot is a 2,600-square-foot space that seats up to 50 patrons.

It's the company's fourth B.C. location, which has been in the works for about two years and was postponed from an autumn 2017 opening. Two locations opened in Victoria last year with a third launching in downtown Vancouver in September 2017.

Its soft-opening was on September 5 and its grand opening weekend will be held on September 28 and 29, featuring chances to win free food or discounts.

The menu covers a selection of eight burgers ($6.99, or $9.99 for combos), ranging from bacon cheddar to a southwest black bean burger. Also on offer are hot dogs, chicken strips, grilled chicken sandwiches, salads, fries (including poutine and onion rings), and shakes.

The burger chain first opened in 1986 in California with a focus on hamburgers, fries, and shakes, and is now located in 31 countries.
