Just because summer is winding down, doesn’t mean Vancouverites won’t continue hunting for delicious frozen treats.

Ice-cream lovers around town are in luck, because a highly anticipated dessert establishment has finally opened its doors on the eve of fall.

Elephant Garden Creamery (2080 Commercial Drive) is officially scooping up their handcrafted ice cream on the Drive. Owner and founder Betsy Ng first popularized her artisan products at local farmers markets, but she was able to secure a storefront earlier this year.

The bright and minimalistic space showcases plenty of natural lighting and wood elements paired with white tables and seats.

Many of the flavours at the ice-cream parlour are Asian-inspired, which alludes to Ng’s background and Vancouver as a multicultural hub.

Its menu features signature and seasonal flavours, including cereal and milk, avocado milk, Hong Kong milk tea, malted milk choco, banana yogurt, mango lassi, blueberry cheesecake, mango coconut sticky rice, Thai iced tea, and peach basil sorbet.

If you’re keen to take some of its ice cream home, there’s a pint freezer in the shop that is always stocked with six staple flavours.

Stay tuned for more info on Elephant Garden’s grand opening in the coming weeks.
