A non-dairy frozen dessert by a Vancouver-based vegan company is being recalled in British Columbia and Alberta due to undeclared milk.

On September 22, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced that Nora's Non-Dairy is recalling some of its plant-based dairy-free frozen desserts.

According to a statement on Nora's website, trace amounts of milk that is not listed on the label were detected in the dark chocolate used in specific batches "due to cross-contamination" at a third party supplier’s facility.

The affected products are Nora's dairy-free frozen desserts with the flavours of mint chip (with codes 28JN20, 26JL20, and 31AU20, and UPC number 6 27843 81417 7) and peanut butter and chocolate (with codes 27JL20 and 06SE20, and UPC  number 6 27843 81418 4).

      Both are 473 millilitres.

Anyone allergic to milk should not consume these products, as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.

The recalled products should either be disposed of or returned to the place of purchase.

Thus far, there haven't been any reported reactions from consuming this product.
