Cardero's launches happy hour in Coal Harbour

Given Cardero’s primo waterfront location on the Coal Harbour seawall (1583 Coal Harbour Quay), with views of the inner harbour, Stanley Park, the Lions Gate bridge, and the North Shore mountains, it’s a little hard to believe it hasn’t had Happy Hour yet.

That all changes tomorrow (September 26).

Available in the pub, the 3 to 6 p.m. menu will feature dishes that all cost $10 or less.

Look for Manila clams in a broth made of Guinness, garlic, cracked pepper, and butter, served with grilled bread; naan with avocado hummus topped with feta and dukkah, an Egyptian mix of herbs, nuts, and spices; and slow-cooked pulled-pork tacos served open-face on grilled corn tortillas with kimchi slaw and crema. Then there are sliders of sesame-crusted albacore tuna with wasabi aioli and Asian slaw.

There are vegetarian and gluten-free options, while the seafood is all Ocean Wise.

Drinks-wise, here’s what $5 gets you: a glass of house red or white wine, a sleeve of Stanley Park Noble Pilsner or Amber Ale, or a house highball.

Cardero’s, which opened in 1997, is part of the Sequoia Group of Restaurants. The company also owns the Teahouse in Stanley Park, the Sandbar on Granville Island, and Seasons in the Park.

More info about the new Happy Hour is at Cardero’s.
