Local pan-Asian restaurant Torafuku (958 Main Street) is celebrating National Dumpling Day—today (September 26), apparently!—with a special offering of auspicious dumplings.

Available in the I Heart Ramen, which combines kakuni-style braised-pork dumplings with preserved bamboo, leeks, king oyster mushroom, toasted nori, and a Tokotsu emulsion, and the vegan Lucky Dumpling, which is stuffed with roasted pumpkin, kale, and parsnip, and presented alongside togarashi, wakame, and a daikon-miso broth, the savoury delights will be available at the Main Street spot until October 10.

In addition to celebrating National Dumping Day, the dishes are being served up to honour Vancouver Eats, a recently launched cookbook by local writer Joanne Sasvari that features recipes from some of the city’s top chefs, including Torafuku’s Clement Chan.
