LOT185 Café and Wine Bar brings pastries and tapas to the Vancouver Convention Centre
The Vancouver Convention Centre (1055 Canada Place) is usually associated with global forums, lifestyle events, or graduation parties, but now it can also be known as a place to grab a bite or glass of wine.
LOT185 Café and Wine Bar opens inside the double LEED Platinum-certified building tomorrow (September 28), offering a menu that ranges from coffee to tapas to freshly baked pastries to international wines.
The space has an 80-person capacity that covers two floors, which includes a private dining room that features direct views of Jack Poole Plaza.
An in-house bakery serves up items like scones, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, and cakes. It’s also home to a full coffee bar that uses beans from North Vancouver’s Moja Coffee.
In the evening, a rotating menu will be available. Guests will be able to find tasty bites like sliders, Neapolitan-style pizzas, cheese and charcuterie, and other small plates.
In terms of drinks, a B.C.-focused wine and craft beer list is on offer. International wines are also poured here, as well as non-alcoholic beverages like sodas and kombucha.
“We wanted to offer something that allowed us to showcase the incredible Convention Centre culinary team to the public in a more casual environment,” said Craig Lehto, general manager of Vancouver Convention Centre, in a press statement. “We created a space to bring the five-star Convention Centre kitchen to locals while offering an alternative dining experience to our guests attending meetings and conventions at our facility.”
The eatery opens tomorrow at 7 a.m., and the first 185 guests who visit will receive a free coffee and scone, as well as a special welcome gift.
