Meat-lovers will be happy to know that a new steakhouse is opening up in the city.

Elisa (1109 Hamilton Street) will be the eighth addition to Toptable Group’s roster of restaurants around Vancouver and Whistler. Self-described as a modern steakhouse, it will serve up a number of wood-fired prime cuts from around the world.

The 6,800-square-foot Yaletown dining establishment, formerly occupied by Milestones Grill and Bar, will feature a contemporary West Coast interior highlighted by wooden beams and artwork.

The sizeable restaurant will also have a lounge and bar.

The kitchen team will be led by executive chef Andrew Richardson, who will oversee what may be the steakhouse’s crown jewel: a Grillworks Infierno wood-fired grill.

Besides the mouthwatering slabs of steak (including Japanese A5 Black cuts) that will be on offer, guests will also be able to find sustainable seafood and locally sourced veggie dishes on the menu.

Some of its culinary creations include smoked bison tartare, fresh oysters, seafood towers, wood-grilled scallops, Alaskan king crab, and roast halibut.

“Elisa was inspired by the values of sharing memorable moments around the table with family and friends," said Michael Doyle, president of Toptable Group, in a press statement. “Designed as a response to the traditional steakhouse experience, Elisa exemplifies a refreshing spirit of hospitality through its unique and feminine details."

The highly anticipated eatery is slated to open later this month, so stay tuned for more details.

Burrata will be on the farm-to-table menu.
