The Pantsios family of Vancouver is letting go of their beloved restaurant in Kitsilano.

Sunshine Diner, famous for its retro décor and breakfast specials, is up for sale.

A listing by the Restaurant Business Broker puts the selling price at $1.28 million.

“After 26 years, the owner has decided to retire,” according to the listing.

The listing went on to note that the “blockbuster restaurant is a turn key business”, a “one of a kind in Vancouver” that is “often used for filming and parties”.

The restaurant sits 87 inside and 35 at the patio. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen.

The Sunshine Diner’s website notes that the establishment at 2649 West Broadway is “rich in history”.

It was originally named the Sunshine Café back in 1970.

“Still today the Sunshine remains in the heart of Kitsilano in the best place on earth we like to call Vancouver, or home sweet home,” according to the establishment.
