Blenz Coffee is hosting its annual Coffee by Donation Day on October 17, during which 100 percent of its drip-coffee sales will go toward the Canadian Cancer Society’s work in breast-cancer research and advocacy.

On this date, all Blenz locations in B.C. will accept donations of any denomination in exchange for a drip coffee of any size. The initiative, which is in its sixth year, coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness Month and aims to raise awareness of the disease, which, according to the Canadian Cancer Society, is the most common cancer among Canadian women.

“Coffee by Donation Day is a great opportunity for members of our community to donate what they can towards breast cancer research, and enjoy their regular cup of coffee in return as a token of our appreciation,” Alana Pappas, marketing coordinator at Blenz, said in a press statement.

Blenz’s Coffee by Donation Day has raised more than $100,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society since 2013. In addition to these efforts, the Vancouver-based coffee chain offers a pink-cup design and a pink latte that are available exclusively during the month of October. Blenz donates 50 cents to the Canadian Cancer Society for every pink latte sold.
