Just as one Vancouver chocolatier has expanded, another one has shut down.

Artisan chocolate boutique Xoxolat (pronounced sho-sho-la) has closed down its stylish venue perched on the edge of Yaletown at 1271 Homer Street.

It was previously situated at 2391 Burrard Street before relocating in September 2013 to its current spot.

In addition to its own line of truffles and signature chocolate shoes, owner Hodie Rondeau curated an expansive selection of imported chocolate, often with diverse and unusual flavours, ranging from countries such as Austria, Trinidad, Tanzania, and Sri Lanka.

Chocolate-tasting classes taught attendees about the chocolate-making process from the cacao bean to the chocolate bar.

The Georgia Straight has contacted Xoxolat for more information.
