      In the blink of an eye, we’re almost at the end of the year—again. Whether you have plans to party it up or keep it low-key on December 31, you can’t do it without satisfying your appetite first.

      Luckily, Vancouverites are spoiled with choice when it comes to festive dinner menus around town. From multicourse meals to a-la-carte options to gourmet buffets, why not indulge a little for your last supper of the year?

      Here are 12 places to find New Year’s Eve menus around Metro Vancouver before you begin counting down to 2019.

      Mak N Ming

      1. Mak N Ming (1629 Yew Street)

      Tucked away in the heart of Kitsilano, this intimate restaurant is raising its glasses to the New Year with a multicourse dinner that kicks off with champagne and canapés. Guests will be served everything from scallops and caviar to foie gras with daikon, and from crab motoyaki to chocolate crepes. Not a bad way to finish off 2018.       Cardero's

      2. Cardero’s Restaurant (1583 Coal Harbour Quay)

      Soak up the harbour views while you enjoy your last meal of the year at this seaside restaurant. Cardero’s featured New Year’s Eve menu includes options like lobster bisque, seafood trio, and a steak-and-lobster dish. Finish off with desserts like tiramisu espresso and chocolate molten lava cake. Head there early with the entire brood for some good food, or go for the later seating that includes a midnight countdown, DJ, dancing, party favours, and a balloon drop.       3. Globe @ YVR (3111 Grant McConachie Way, Richmond)

      Catching flights shouldn’t be the only reason to head to the Vancouver International Airport. The Fairmont Vancouver Airport’s in-house restaurant will be serving a New Year’s Eve buffet dinner, which will showcase a seafood bar, carvery station, cheese and charcuterie, and dessert bar—a midnight toast is also included. Fill your plates with items like smoked salmon, freshly shucked oysters, slow-roasted sablefish, Fraser Valley suckling pig, double-fudge cast-iron brownie, orange chocolate cheesecake, and much more.       4. Wildebeest (120 West Hastings Street)

      Celebrate the end of 2018 at this Gastown restaurant known for its comforting dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Its New Year’s Eve dinner service features a four-course prix-fixe menu, with creations that include fresh burrata cheese and heirloom carrots, Dungeness crab, bison flat iron, Peace Country lamb, and chocolate-and-fig cake. Optional wine pairings are also available for an additional charge. Advanced reservations and tickets are required, which can be purchased online.

      Yuwa Japanese Cuisine

      5. Yuwa Japanese Cuisine (2775 West 16th Avenue)

      We don’t know about you, but having premium Japanese food for the last meal of the year sounds excellent to us. Yuwa’s multicourse New Year’s Eve dinner comes with a glass of sparkling wine or sake, and various dishes such as steamed abalone with uni (sea urchin) sauce, fresh sushi rolls, and soba noodle soup, among other tasty items. The premium menu option adds hand-picked cuts of fresh sashimi and sushi flown in from Japan to your plate. Optional wine and sake pairings are available for an additional cost.       6. The Botanist (1038 Canada Place)

      Fairmont Pacific Rim’s popular in-house restaurant will be winding down 2018 with a six-course tasting menu on New Year’s Eve. Expect to indulge in everything from caviar to house-made pappardelle, and from grilled swordfish to dry-aged striploin. Additional wine pairings are available for an additional cost.       7. Origo Club (110–6888 River Road, Richmond)

      If you’re looking for good food and good cheer, head to this upscale French eatery that also encompasses an art and café culture. Origo Club will be hosting a New Year’s Eve feast, which includes six delicious dishes and a glass of Champagne Barons de Rothschild Brut. Creations such as pan-fried scallops, shoyu-glazed sablefish, oysters, and beef tenderloin are on the menu. Finish off with a dark chocolate crémeux—it will satisfy your sweettooth.       For those who enjoy the luxury of choice when it comes to dining out, head over to Pan Pacific Vancouver’s Oceans 999 restaurant for its Italian-themed New Year’s Eve dinner buffet. Guests will be able to roam through various food stations filled with items like mini lobster rolls, Italian charcuterie, Italian cheeses, slow-roasted lamb sirloin, assorted flatbreads, and make-your-own pastas.       Yaletown’s newest restaurant will be celebrating New Year’s Eve with its regular a la carte menu—which can still be considered hot off the press. Classic beef tartare, fresh oysters, potato gnocchi, and Alaskan king crab are featured, but the stars of the show are the dining spot’s steak selection.       10. Miku Restaurant (70–200 Granville Street)

      Often considered one of the city’s best restaurants in terms of location (and food), Miku’s water views are unbeatable—especially with the fireworks on New Year’s Eve. It will be offering a special menu on December 31, which includes aburi (flame-seared) sashimi, octopus ceviche, pan-seared Hokkaido scallop, aburi lobster tail, a selection of holiday sushi, and passionfruit praline dome for dessert.       11. Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar (845 Burrard Street)

      The chefs at this award-winning dining establishment will be serving up two New Year’s Eve dinner services that feature three and four-course prix-fixe menus. Enjoy various dishes that range from burrata with black-winter truffle to butter-poached lobster tail, and from dry-aged duck breast to caramel-chocolate mousse.       12. The Victor (39 Smithe Street)

      Parq Vancouver’s steakhouse will be serving a New Year’s Eve prix-fixe menu in its expansive dining room, complete with nighttime views of a 30,000-square-foot rooftop garden and B.C. Place. For the last supper of the year, guests will get to taste items including iced-seafood cocktail, alba white-truffle risotto, Snake River Farms wagyu striploin, and baked Alaska for dessert.
