Street Food City to return to downtown Vancouver with more than 20 food trucks

Those who work in the downtown core will be able to trade in their homemade sandwiches and leftover casserole dishes for more exciting lunch options at the end of the month.

As part of Dine Out Vancouver’s pop-up events, the eighth annual Street Food City food truck festival returns to the Vancouver Art Gallery (šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énk Square) from January 21 to 27, 2019.

More than 20 food trucks and carts will converge at the spacious outdoor plaza, rotating throughout the week. Menu items like Korean-style tacos, gourmet mac-and-cheese, vegan bowls, and Italian pastries will be available.

Because our city has regular downpours, onsite tents and tables will be set up to provide a comfortable and dry space for festival-goers to enjoy their lunch. Expect to enjoy music via radio broadcasts and various live DJs while you chow down on your grilled-cheese sandwich, or other mouthwatering lunch grub.

Partial proceeds from this delicious event will go toward the B.C. Hospitality Foundation, a charity that supports those working in the hospitality industry when they face a financial crisis due to health issues.

Admission to Street Food City is free, which will be open Monday to Thursday (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and Friday to Sunday (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.), at Vancouver Art Gallery’s North plaza on Georgia Street.
