Despite what the name suggests, there’s a lot more to the Osoyoos Oyster Festival than mere bivavles.

Taking place April 24 to 28, the 8th annual event focuses on sustainable and ethically sourced seafood and features wine and cocktail pairings plus an outdoor food-truck market.

Among the culinary events on the roster are:

Oyster Long Table Dinner at Miradoro Restaurant

The April 24 evening starts with an oyster reception then has a three-course, family-style menu ($47 per person plus tax, not indulging optional wine pairings).

Sauvignon, Sparkling & Oyster Fare at Black Hills Winery

This reception pairs oysters with sparkling wines by members of the Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association on April 25; tickets are $59 per person plus tax.

Journey of the Four Food Chiefs at Spirit Ridge Resort

Taking place on the resort's vineyard patio, the April 26 reception will feature Indigenous-inspired cuisine along with cocktails, wine stations, and live entertainment; tickets are $89 plus tax.

      Oysterhood at Convivia Bistro Cuisine

Oyster farmers and producers will be shucking on the patio on April 27, while the bistro’s sommelier will select wine pairings from the new vintages of Convivia’s Red, White, and Rosé.

Seafood Soiree at Watermark Beach Resort

Before attendees dance the night away to live music, five guest chefs will prepare a multicourse meal of sustainable seafood that will be served with samples of local wineries’ latest releases. Taking place April 27, this is also the night that results of the Oyster Wine Competition will be announced, with expert judges pairing South Okanagan wines with oysters throughout the festival. Tickets are $85 plus tax.

Oliver Eats Ltd. Artisan Food & Oyster Market on Station Street

Several food trucks as well as oyster shuckers, seafood merchants, bakers, local brewers, cideries, and wineries will take over downtown Oliver. Crafts and live music are also on the bill.

Oyster Festival Happy Hour at Terrafina at Hester Creek by RauDZ

The oyster-inspired afternoons with wine pairings place April 24 to 27 from 3 to 5 p.m.
