Are you a fan of the Oktoberfest, the German-themed Vancouver Christmas Market, or the newly launched Bavarian beer hall–inspired Prost Haus? Or the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE), which just opened this past weekend? Or do you simply enjoy dressing up in lederhosen or dirndls?

If you answered yes to any (or all) of the above, here’s something to look forward to later on this year.

After a one-year hiatus, organizers of the annual Oktoberfest party Harvest Haus announced that they will celebrate their fifth year by teaming up this year with the PNE to hold Harvestland this autumn.

It's a major expansion of Harvest Haus that will span 10 days in a bid to become one of the biggest harvest events in the country.

To be held at Hastings Park (including at the PNE Forum) from October 10 to 20, the family-friendly Harvestland will be an all-ages event with food and beverages, rides, attractions, and entertainment.

Attractions will include pumpkin carving, tractor rides, logger sports, and theatrical entertainment, as well as a Bavarian Village, a Woodland Labyrinth, and an interactive Kinder Farm.

This expanded celebration will be run in conjunction with the adult-oriented Harvest Haus party, for those 19 years and older, which will be held on October 10 to 12 and October 18 and 19.

Harvest Haus will feature pretzels, oompah bands and DJs, beer steins, and range of international beer and spirits.

More information and ticket sales will become available at the Harvestland website or Facebook event webpage over the next few months.

While we wait for that event to roll around, there’s plenty to keep you entertained as Playland opened at the PNE on May 4 and a new ride—the Sea-to-Sky Swinger—will be unveiled at the amusement park this weekend.
