Forget pop- or pina colada-flavoured slushies.

Larry’s Market, an organic and vegetarian and organic grocery store and eatery opening soon in Lower Lonsdale, is introducing the region’s first kombucha slushy machine.

The shop and café will be serving Hoochy ’Booch Kombucha’s Blue Algae flavour in slurpy form.

Run by North Van couple Ryan and Sarah Dennis, Larry’s Market opens June 22 at the Shipyards development in the historic district of the same name near Lonsdale Quay.

Larry's Market also recently launched another local first: a vending machine that stocks nothing but healthy vegetarian fare. The menu includes salads like kale and quinoa and Buddha bowls by JamJar Canteen and Bluhouse Market and Café, as well as snacks such as organic hard-boiled eggs, hummus, chips and salsa, raw vegetables, and more.

Vegetarian salads, along with healthy snacks like organic chips and salsa and hard-boiled eggs, are on the menu at Larry's Market's vending machine at Lonsdale Quay Market.

The vending machine, which Larry’s Market stocks daily, is up and running at Lonsdale Quay Market.

The market itself will carry a wide range of grocery products, from toilet paper to organic ketchup, while its café will offer fire-oven pizza (with dough from North Vancouver’s Holy Napoli), freshly made salads, “vegcuterie” boards (with Blue Heron Creamery’s vegan cheeselike products), smoothies, kombucha on tap, Moja coffee, bread from the Modern Pantry, and more.

The Shipyards development in Lower Lonsdale will house several restaurants, including Nook, JamJar Canteen, and JOEY.
