Air Canada’s enRoute magazine has revealed the list of 35 nominees for its Canada’s best new restaurants awards today (August 8).

Among them are two Vancouver dining establishments: Ugly Dumpling (1590 Commercial Drive) and Como Taperia (201 East 7th Avenue).

Other contenders in the province that made it onto the list include Home Block at CedarCreek Estate Winery (5445 Lakeshore Road) in Kelowna, House of Boateng (105–2854 Peatt Road) and Nowhere *A Restaurant (#g4 1001, Douglas Street) in Victoria, and Pluvio (1714 Peninsula Road) in Ucluelet.

The nominee list was put forward by a panel of food experts across the country, and one anonymous writer will visit each restaurant to determine which ones will make the cut for the top 10 titles.

Last year, Vancouver’s St. Lawrence was named fourth best new restaurant in Canada.
