If you want to learn more about Filipino food and culture, be sure to add this weekend event to your calendar.

Magkasama (which means together in Tagalog) is a modern Filipino market that takes place tomorrow (November 16) at the Pace (520 Alexander Street).

Running from noon until 8 p.m., this free festival will feature various things that spotlight Filipino culture, including food, music, dance, handcrafted goods, art displays, and more.

The event is the brainchild of Filipino food truck Shameless Buns and Filipino pop-up restaurant Layunin, and more than 25 vendors will be showcased.

Guests can expect plenty of gourmet fare, such as Filipino baked goods, Filipino-inspired ice-cream flavours, and Filipino-inspired cocktails and beer, among others.

Besides delicious bites and libations, the entertainment line-up will keep guests busy: DJ sets, barber demos, tattoo consultations, and probably a lot of singing and dancing.

Some of the food vendors include: Shameless Buns, Layunin, Kasama Chocoaltes, Bukobaba, Kape Coffee, Khaykery, La Glace, Ensaimada Moment, Sweet Alley, and Khayebakes.
