Forty Ninth Parallel Café takes dairy-free lattes a step further

If you like your lattes without dairy, Forty Ninth Parallel Café (2902 Main Street and 2152 West 4th Avenue) has a fresh new option. The Main Street location is now making its almond milk in-house daily by grinding raw, organic nuts with water and Medjool dates, letting the mixture rest, and then straining it through cheesecloth. The naturally sweetened “milk” can be had for a 50-cent surcharge on any café beverage; it will be available at the Kitsilano location as well by the end of January.
