Boulevard and the Parker launch happy hour specials

      Happy hour keeps gaining momentum in Vancouver, with two restaurants announcing new food specials to go along with bargain tipples.

      Starting Friday (March 27), Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar (845 Burrard Street) is launching buck-a-shuck oysters along with small-plate specials like octopus ceviche ($10), available from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily; drink specials run $4 to $7.

      At the vegetarian Parker (237 Union Street), happy hour happens from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday. Diners can choose three dishes (like grilled king oyster mushrooms over truffled chawan mushi) from the fresh sheet for $29. Add a craft beer or cider, a glass of wine, or a cocktail ($5 to $8 each) and hit the patio when the sun shines.
